State economic analysts report that Arizona’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate slipped to 4.8 percent in October, down from 4.9 percent in September, as nonfarm employment rose by 31,600 jobs.

The Arizona Commerce Authority said Thursday in its monthly report that the jobs increase was higher than the higher 10-year average gain of 24,800 jobs in October.

The authority reported that the trade, transportation and utilities sector had the biggest increase with 9,000 additional jobs.

The professional and business services sector followed with 6,100 additional jobs and the education and health services added 4,000 jobs.
