Clarkdale Police Plan Community Meeting On Deadly Incident

Clarkdale police have scheduled a community meeting Thursday night to discuss a deadly incident in which a man fatally assaulted his 4-year-old son and injured his mother before being fatally shot by a police officer.

Police said the meeting at the Clarkdale-Jerome school will “provide a platform for information sharing, education of trauma and resiliency, and available resources within the community.”

Clarkdale Police said the 4-year-old boy died Friday of injuries inflicted by his father Thursday and that the boy's grandmother had a fractured skull.

According to the statement, the officer responding to a vague report of an injured person fatally shot 33-year-old Joshua David Hernandez Lord after discovering the injured boy and being threatened by the knife-wielding man.
