A new partnership involving the state of Arizona has been created to secure up to one-million N-95 face masks and other equipment for healthcare workers statewide during the Coronavirus pandemic. There has been a massive shortage of masks, ventilators and other health care equipment worldwide since COVID-19 began spreading weeks ago.
Governor Doug Ducey announced Tuesday the state is joining the “BSTRONG” initiative, Global Empowerment Mission, and the Verstandig Foundation in an attempt to get the masks donated.
The governor said in a news release the first 250,000 masks will be donated by the Verstandig Foundation, with anticipated arrival in Arizona within 10 days.
Over the weekend, Ducey announced a new shipment of medical supplies for Arizona health care professionals from the Strategic National Stockpile.
The shipment includes more than 440,000 personal protective equipment that will be distributed to county health departments to provide to local hospitals and medical professionals as they treat patients during the outbreak.
