en.wikipedia.org

As the number of known Coronavirus cases and deaths grows in Utah, the governor announced a freeze on evictions Wednesday and advocates demanded more inmates be released to prevent the spread in jails and prisons.

Seven people have died from the new Coronavirus in Utah, including two new deaths of people over 65. Utah has more than 1,000 cases.

With businesses closed around the state to prevent the spread of the virus, Utah Governor Gary Herbert has ordered landlords to allow rent payments from affected workers to be deferred and evictions stopped until May 15.
