Southwest Gas has contributed $65,000 to the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund. The fund, established by Governor Doug Ducey, will provide financial support to organizations working to mitigate the impacts of COVID-19.
The money will be used provide personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline medical personnel. It also will be used to support non-profit organizations that help vulnerable Arizonans through food banks, homeless shelters, domestic violence facilities and other services.
Money also has been provided to expand technology access for low-income students to help them transition to online learning.
In addition to the donation from Southwest Gas, The Ben and Catherine Ivy Foundation has donated five-million dollars to the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund.
The Chairman and President of the Arizona Cardinals helped kick off the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund with a founding contribution to one-million dollars and Arizona Public Service Company has donated 250-thousand dollars.
