AZ Reports New COVID-19 Cases And Deaths

The Arizona Department of Health Services reports more than 1,400 new cases of coronavirus and two more known deaths. That brings the state's death toll to 1,044.

Health officials report nearly 27,000 confirmed cases of the virus in Arizona as of Sunday. It marks the third consecutive day of more than 1,000 new infections reported. Health officials on Friday had reported more than 1,500 new infections, by far the highest daily count since the pandemic began in earnest in the U.S. in March. Saturday, officials reported nearly 1,200 new cases. The Navajo Nation reports more than 100 new cases and five more known deaths as of Saturday night, bringing the total number of know positive cases of COVID-19 to nearly 6,000 and the number of known deaths to 274.
