A 24 year old Flagstaff man was killed yesterday after being hit by a train.

Witnesses told authorities that Allen Shaffer was walking southbound across the railroad tracks in downtown Flagstaff, when he turned back to the north in the middle of the tracks. He was seen waving at a westbound train as it passed, and then tried to run away from it. Investigators are still reviewing nearby surveillance camera recordings for details of the accident.
