Hopi Village Of Shungopavi Extends COVID-19 Proclamation And Emergency Response Plan

Hopi Tribal leaders of the Village of Shungopavi have extended a Proclamation and Emergency Response Plan and declared the coronavirus pandemic a direct and imminent threat to the lives and well-being of Hopi people.

The Proclamation states that the exterior boundaries of the Village of Shungopavi be closed for 60 days to non-residents, except for public safety providers, health professionals, law enforcement and emergency responders. The terms and conditions of the Proclamation and Emergency Response Plan of the Sovereign Village of Shungopavi will remain in full force and effect until otherwise modified.
