Kaibab National Forest Lifts Campfire Restrictions

freestockphotos.biz

Officials on the Kaibab National Forest have lifted campfire restrictions after the area received widespread rain in recent weeks.

The Bill Williams Mountain watershed will also reopen allowing visitors to access several popular recreation areas. Forest managers say they’ll issue a new closure order for Bill Williams Mountain in September as forest thinning operations resume. All six of Arizona’s national forests banned campfires months ago to reduce human-caused wildfires during the coronavirus pandemic. Restrictions are still in effect for many areas of the state including the Coconino National Forest.
