A Black Lives Matter demonstration over the weekend in Flagstaff turned tense when a motorist who flipped-off the crowd was surrounded by protesters, and then left his vehicle brandishing a handgun.

According to Flagstaff police, the crowd opened the car doors and took the vehicle’s keys. The driver was eventually arrested on charges of driving while impaired. A second person was arrested for burglary, disorderly conduct and other charges. Meanwhile, authorities say seven people were arrested after a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest in Tempe turned chaotic when police officers ordered protesters off a major roadway. Officers pepper-sprayed demonstrators who didn’t stay on the sidewalks. Police report one officer was injured by a projectile. During the three-hour protest, organizers highlighted the Arizona police-involved shooting deaths of Dalvin Hollins and Dion Johnson.
