Navajo Nation Approves CARES Act Funds For Water, Power And Broadband Projects

Navajo Nation

Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez has approved more than 475 million dollars in CARES Act funding for water and power line projects, expanded internet access and more resources to help tribal members during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The funds were approved today for projects including windmill repairs, earthen dams and water well infrastructure, telecommunication and broadband expansion for schools and public facilities, and solar projects for Navajo homes, among other things. President Nez says funds will also be used for hardship assistance to help Navajo individuals and families impacted by the pandemic.
