Navajo Nation VP Lizer Speaks At Republican National Convention

Navajo Nation Vice President Myron Lizer addressed the Republican National Convention Tuesday night.

His 3-minute speech was pre-recorded in Shiprock, New Mexico. Lizer praised the Trump administration for the $8 billion for tribes included in the federal coronavirus relief package, and for creating a national task force to solve cold cases of missing and murdered Indigenous people. Lizer ended his speech by endorsing Trump in his reelection bid and inviting the president to visit the Navajo Nation.

Navajo President Jonathan Nez, meanwhile, has endorsed former Vice President Joe Biden in the 2020 election. Nez was among several younger elected officials to deliver a keynote address last week at the all-virtual Democratic National Convention.
