Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey urged parents and school officials to be on the lookout for children and teens at risk for suicide during the pandemic.

Ducey spoke Thursday alongside health and education officials who warned that the COVID-19 outbreak is likely to increase depression and suicide. The governor says schools have counseling resources available even as children learn online. Arizona health officials on Thursday reported 461 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 along with 22 more deaths. Arizona has shown significant decreases in cases, hospitalizations and other virus-related metrics since the state was a national hotspot in July.
