The Navajo Nation Monday reinstated a three-week stay-at-home lockdown order for the entire reservation as COVID-19 cases rise.
Tribal offices will also close along with businesses and other safety measures will be put in place. Much of the Navajo Nation was closed between March and August as COVID swept through the reservation. Tribal officials last week warned residents of nearly three-dozen communities of new “uncontrolled spread” of the virus.
Navajo health officials Sunday reported 117 new COVID-19 infections and four more deaths. More than 13,300 people on the reservation have tested positive and over 600 have died.
