One year after the state confirmed its first coronavirus case, Arizona health officials report more than 730,000 known cases and nearly 12,500 deaths from the virus.

The Department of Health Services announced the state’s first case on January 26th, 2020. The patient was reportedly a resident of Maricopa County who had recently travel to Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak. Today, Tuesday, state health officials report more than 4,700 new cases and 209 known deaths.
