Parnership Aims To Vaccinate Holocaust Survivors In AZ

Arizona health officials have partnered with the Phoenix Holocaust Association to vaccinate about 40 Holocaust survivors statewide.

Democratic representative Alma Hernandez of Tucson brought the idea of the partnership to state health officials. The president of the Phoenix Holocaust Association said last week the age of the survivors would create difficulties in registering for vaccination appointments. Two survivors, born in former Czechoslovakia and Poland respectively, received a second dose of the Pfizer vaccine last Friday. Many older people nationwide report technological barriers to getting the vacccine, including lack of internet access or ability to make an online appointment.
