Arizona Reports 121 Deaths As COVID-19 Outbreak Slows

AP, file

The Arizona Department of Health Services today reported nearly 939 new known COVID-19 infections and 121 more deaths.

It’s the first time since Nov. 30 that officials have reported fewer than 1,000 additional cases and continues a general downward trend in new daily infections, deaths, hospitalizations and intensive care bed use. Nearly 813,000 COVID cases have been reported in Arizona since the pandemic began and 15,814 people have died.

Meanwhile, vaccinations in Arizona are steadily rising with more than 1.1 million people having received at least one dose. About 6% of Arizona’s population has been fully immunized.
