Arizona Confirms More Than 1,300 Known Infections As Cases And Deaths Decline

AP, file

Arizona health officials Friday reported 1,367 new known cases of COVID-19 and 55 more deaths.

Averages for daily cases and deaths have dropped over the last two weeks, according to the Department of Health Services and Johns Hopkins University. The state earlier this week recorded three straight days of fewer than 1,000 newly confirmed daily infections.

Officials also say almost a 1.5 million people have received at least one dose of COVID vaccine and nearly 12% of Arizonans are now fully inoculated.
