Yavapai County Authorities Searching For Suspect In Attempted Kidnapping Of 8-Year-Old

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a suspect in the attempted kidnapping of an 8-year-old girl Tuesday afternoon.

Officials say the child was riding her bike in the Castle Canyon Mesa area near Prescott Valley when a man in a black truck stopped and tried to grab her. Witnesses told the girl to run and she was able to escape. The driver sped away from the scene.

The suspect is a white man in his twenties with red or orange hair that’s wavy in the front, and was wearing a white T-shirt. The black truck is lowered with small wheels.

Those who may have information are asked to call the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 771-3260 or Silent Witness at (800) 932-3232. A cash reward of up to $800 is available for a direct tip that leads to the arrest of the suspect in the case.
