Wildfire Near Crown King Now Almost Fully Contained

Inciweb

Firefighters near Crown King say they’ve almost fully contained a wildfire that’s burned more than 5,500 acres over the last week.

They say 91% of the Tussock Fire has been contained despite recent heavy wind. The blaze forced evacuations but the order was lifted last week.

The Southwest Area Type 1 Incident Management Team leading firefighting efforts will turn over control to local crews Tuesday morning to monitor and secure the fire line.

The wildfire was human-caused and under investigation. Fire restrictions are in place across several national forests and counties in Arizona.
