State Land Closures To Lift Friday, Re-Implement Stage II Fire Restrictions

The Arizona State Land Department and the Department of Forestry and Fire Management say they will lift recreational closures on State Trust Land Friday, placing some areas back on Stage II Fire Restrictions.

Those areas include state-owned and managed lands within Coconino, Apache, Gila, La Paz, Maricopa, Mohave, Navajo, Pinal, Yavapai and Yuma counties. Stage II Fire Restrictions prohibit campfires and outdoor smoking and put time limitations on the use of chainsaws and chippers. State land in more southern counties will not re-enter fire restrictions and will be fully open to the public beginning Friday at 8 a.m.
