First Responders Among Those Wounded In Tucson House Fire Shooting

Associated Press

Firefighters and paramedics are among those wounded in Tucson after a gunman opened fire Sunday afternoon at the scene of a house fire.

Authorities say the 35-year-old male suspect reportedly drove up to the home and opened fire on First Responders and neighbors who were trying to put out the flames. One person died from a gunshot wound to the head. An officer responding to the scene returned fire, critically injuring the suspect. A spokesperson for the Tucson Police Department says a burned body was found inside the home. The children who lived there were initially reported missing, but have since been located and are safe. Investigators are looking into whether the shooter had a connection to the home or residents.
