More Flooding In Flagstaff, E. Coli Danger In Oak Creek

This weekend’s monsoon activity led to further flooding in the area of the Museum Fire Burn Scar in Flagstaff. Other parts of the city flooded, as well, including the downtown area and parts of Northern Arizona University.

NAU issued temporary road closures Saturday night due to flood waters. The National Weather Service predicts a 55% chance of rain and thunderstorms today in Flagstaff, with stronger storms expected to return later in the week.

Officials in Sedona say high levels of E.coli bacteria are present in Oak Creek after an estimated 1,500 gallons of sewage water spilled into a nearby wash. City officials say heavy rain caused the spill, which was capped after about 30 minutes, according to a report released Sunday night.
