Arizona health officials today reported 3,621 additional COVID-19 cases and 13 more deaths.

The number of infections is nearing 1 million since the pandemic began. Arizona ranks 13th among U.S. states and territories in total COVID infections and 10th in cases per 100,000 people.

Statewide only 8% of intensive care beds are currently available amid a continued surge driven by the highly contagious delta variant.

Just under half of Arizona’s total population has been fully vaccinated against COVID. In Coconino County just over half have gotten all rounds of shots and in Yavapai County, it’s just under 40 percent.
