Arizona Reports Over 3,200 COVID-19 Cases Amid Continued Surge

Arizona health officials Monday reported 3,247 new known cases of COVID-19 and no additional deaths.

It comes as infections and hospitalizations have increased since July driven by the highly contagious delta variant. As of Sunday, only 9% of intensive care beds in the state were available and 1,983 people statewide were hospitalized with COVID.

All 15 Arizona counties report high levels of community transmission. Just under half of the state’s total population has been fully vaccinated. In Coconino County, it’s over half and in Yavapai County just under 40% of the population has received both shots.
