Navajo Nation Vice President Myron Lizer has been appointed as the vice-chair for the Coalition of Large Tribes. The group advocates for tribes that govern large land trust bases and provide service in the governing of enrolled members.
Lizer has represented the Navajo Nation on the coalition for two years alongside leaders of Crow Nation, Ute Indian Tribe, Blackfeet Tribe and several others. Oglala Sioux Tribe President Kevin Killer was appointed as the group’s president.
During the recent meeting the group discussed COVID-19 mitigation measures, broadband connectivity and American Rescue Plan initiatives and received reports from the U.S. Treasury Department and other federal agencies.
