Coconino County health officials Friday reported the highest number of new known COVID infections since last January’s surge.

In the report for Nov. 11–13, 543 cases were confirmed, surpassing the number from the same week last year.

Page had the largest increase and Williams continues to have the lowest percentage of fully vaccinated people in the county.

Meanwhile, confirmed COVID-19 cases in Arizona have jumped significantly to more than 5,000 in Friday’s statewide update along with 78 deaths.

The latest figures come after more than a month of daily case counts between 1,000 and 3,000. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 21,886 Arizonans have died of COVID.
