A snowy New Year for northern Arizona as another winter storm hits the region

Another winter storm is making its way through northern Arizona on this last day of the year.

The National Weather Service says snow is expected today through New Year’s Day for elevations above 6000’, including Flagstaff, the White Mountains and the Chuska mountains. Moderate heavy rainfall is forecast for lower elevations.

This storm is expected to produce hazardous driving conditions across much of Arizona, with the most challenging driving conditions expected Friday afternoon and evening.

Transportation officials say road closures are possible. Very cold temperatures are forecast for Saturday and Sunday mornings, and Sunday.
