Navajo Nation

All flags on the Navajo Nation will be flown at half-staff today and Thursday to honor a veteran tribal police officer who died from COVID-19 in the line of duty.

Officer Michael Lee, 50, died last Friday at a Phoenix hospital. He served 29 years with the tribal police department, starting as a recruit with the Navajo Police Academy in 1990. Lee worked mainly in Window Rock and Chinle. He is survived by his wife and children. Lee's funeral will be held Thursday at the Potter's House Christian Center in Chinle.
