Mar 6, 2020

Police records show the parents of a 6-year-old boy in Flagstaff facing murder and other charges in his death initially attributed his malnourished state to a medical condition, and to ingesting diet or caffeine pills.

A memorial for a 6-year-old boy in Flagstaff, Arizona, grows on Wednesday, March 4, 2020, as residents add stuffed animals, balloons, candles and messages for the child. Police have arrested the boy's parents and grandmother on suspicion of murder and child abuse in the boy's death.

The parents and the child's grandmother remain jailed on a $3 million bond.

A complaint filed this week accuses them of murder, kidnapping and physically abusing the boy and his older brother.
