Legislation in Arizona and other states are aimed at limiting measures that led to record turnout in the 2020 presidential election. GOP lawmakers want to impose new restrictions on mail-in voting, strengthen voter ID requirements and tighten registration. They’re using former President Trump’s false claims of widespread voter fraud to justify their proposals. One Arizona measure would allow the legislature to overturn the results of presidential elections. President Joe Biden narrowly won the state in November.
