The Latest: Pants Of Missing Girl Found In Arizona Creek

Clothing that belongs to a 6-year-old girl missing since last week in a rural Arizona creek has been found, but searchers have yet to locate the child.

Gila County Sheriff’s Lt. Virgil Dodd says pants confirmed to belong to Willa Rawlings were found a few miles from where she was swept away.  A shoe that authorities believed belonged to the girl was found in the Tonto Creek area over the weekend.

The bodies of a 5-year-old son and a 5-year-old niece of Daniel and Lacey Rawlings were found Saturday, a day after a nine-member family group tried to a cross a creek in a truck.

Authorities have said signs and barricades were up at Tonto Creek that day.

Residents in the area say they’ve been asking for a bridge to be built at the crossing site that tends to flood during strong storms.
