NAU Officials Say Resident Assistant Tested Positive For Coronavirus

Northern Arizona University

Officials at Northern Arizona University say a Resident Assistant at an on-campus dormitory tested positive for COVID-19 about 2 weeks ago.

The information comes after a story ran in the Arizona Daily Sun this week about a student claiming dozens of RA’s were quarantining after returning to campus and were not being required to take coronavirus tests. NAU spokesperson Kim Ott says the RA who tested positive was isolated from others and has since recovered, tested negative for the virus and resumed job duties. Ott says no additional cases were traced to the individual. The student featured in the Daily Sun article has collected more than 1,000 signatures for a Change.org petition to bring awareness to safety issues on campus related to the pandemic.
