Overnight Flooding Possible As Monsoon Pounds Arizona

The National Weather Service says widespread thunderstorms will continue across central and northern Arizona through the weekend.

There is significant threat of flash flooding, especially over recent burn scars and other flood prone areas. The potential for nighttime flooding is likely. Thunderstorms today and this evening could produce damaging hail and wind gusts. Navajo County and the City of Flagstaff remain under declarations of  emergency due to widespread flooding. Severe thunderstorms, heavy rain and flash flooding are expected tonight across the Navajo Nation. Residents are urged to plan as well as they can to shelter in place if necessary. Navajo County emergency information can be found by dialing 311, or on Facebook on the Navajo County Emergency Management and Preparedness page.
