Hundreds of people rallied last night and early this morning in Phoenix, demonstrating against the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. Floyed died in police custody on Memorial Day as an officer held him down by the neck until he couldn't breathe.

George Floyd's death was caught on camera and has caused nationwide outrage and calls for the officers involved to be arrested. Arizona protestors gathered at the state Capitol in Phoenix late last night. Police declared it an unlawful assembly, but according to news outlets at the scene, protestors refused to leave the area. They reportedly threw rocks and water bottles at officers, who responded by firing pepper spray and rubber bullets at the crowd.
