University Of Arizona Lays Off More Than 250 Employees Due To Expected Enrollment Drop

University of Arizona

The University of Arizona has laid off more than 250 employees as enrollment is expected to drop in the fall.

The Arizona Republic reports, the university says 100 people were let go and another 151 didn’t have contracts renewed at the end of June, which the university differentiates between. Faculty and staff teaching first-year English courses and leading research on student retention were among those cut. Many of the faculty and staff who were laid off worked at U-of-A for years and contributed to award-winning programs.
