A 29 year old Houston man leaves Flagstaff today on foot for Los Angeles. Noah Rattler began his 18 hundred mile journey in March to raise awareness about homelessness.
"I took it upon myself to take this walk, and speak out, say as much as I can, be as loud as I can, speak to as many people and touch as many people as I can, to get this information out."
He's walked about twenty miles a day, nearly stepping on rattlesnakes almost getting hit by an exploding semi tire along the way. He carries a simple sign that reads, I'm walking for the homeless.
There has to be a shift in our mentality as far as treating homelessness, a shift in our mentality as far as treating homelessness, go to root causes, rather than putting a bandaid on a gunshot, much easier to stop someone from getting on the streets.
When he completes his trek, Rattler plans to return to Houston and raise money to fight homelessness and poverty in his hometown.
