Biocultural Explorations: Wild Islands, Rich Desert
Set out on an unforgettable week in the Sonoran Desert and Gulf of California with naturalists Lisa Floyd-Hanna and Tom Fleischner, in partnership with the Natural History Institute and Prescott College Kino Bay Center.
Biocultural Explorations: Wild Islands, Rich Desert invites you to explore the landscapes, wildlife, and coastal culture of Bahía de Kino, Sonora, Mexico.
Travel by boat to remote islands, learn desert ecology, assist with sea turtle monitoring, and engage in Indigenous-led experiences. From dolphins at the bow to seabirds overhead, each day offers moments of wonder and discovery — deepening your connection to place, community, and the living stories of the natural world.
