Labor Day Weekend Peaceful Pines Retreat: Meditations on a Kind Heart
Labor Day Weekend Peaceful Pines Retreat: Meditations on a Kind Heart
Join us at the IKRC Grand Canyon during Labor Day weekend as we bid adieu to summer, but set an intention to maintain a warm heart throughout the entire year.
International Retreat Leader Gen-la Kelsang Jampa will explain and guide three simple meditations that help us develop greater peace of mind and happiness, and improve our relationships through learning to authentically cherish others. In this retreat, we’ll spend time mixing our mind with some of Buddha’s most precious teachings on how to train in deepening and expanding our love and compassion.
This retreat is perfect for beginners to meditation and even those more experienced.
We offer comfortable room accommodations for those who would like to stay onsite, and you can also add vegetarian/vegan meals to your booking.
On this retreat, we’ll be observing partial silence up until lunchtime each day so that we’ll have a real opportunity to deeply contemplate the teachings and take them to heart.
On the breaks in between meditation sessions, you can go for walks, circumambulate the Temple, or hike through the Kaibab National Forest which is adjacent to the Temple grounds. Some retreaters prefer to contemplate the teachings and read in designated quiet areas or relax in their rooms. You’ll also have the chance to meet and interact with fellow retreaters.
Everyone is welcome. These meditations can be practiced by anyone.
