CUMULUS explores the processes and phenomena of the atmosphere, through art. This exhibition coincides with the Southwest U.S. summer monsoon season to celebrate the iconographic regional weather patterns, while including national and global meteorological perspectives on weather in a rapidly changing climate. Presenting work by 60 artists selected by renowned artist jurors Shonto Begay (Flagstaff, AZ), Christine Cassano (Santa Fe, NM), and Jaewook Lee (Flagstaff, AZ). Exhibition co-curated by legendary Flagstaff meteorologist Lee Born.

Therefore it is essential that we learn which types of mind create suffering and which types of mind are conducive to feelings of contentment and a sense of well-being. In particular, through training in meditation we can develop and maintain a peaceful mind which will be a source of happiness, harmony and good relationships with others.

About Gen-la Kelsang Jampa
Gen-la Kelsang Jampa is the Deputy Spiritual Director of the New Kadampa Tradition whereby he teaches large events and guides meditation retreats all around the world. Gen-la Jampa is also the Resident Teacher of the International Kadampa Retreat Center Grand Canyon, located on I-40 (Exit 171) just outside of Williams.

CITIZENS WATER ADVOCACY GROUP LD1 CANDIDATE FORUM OCT. 5
What should the Arizona Legislature do to improve groundwater management in rural Arizona? Should legislators take action to protect the Verde River, the only surviving living river in Arizona?Candidates for Legislative District 1 (LD1) will be discussing these water-related questions and more during a virtual forum conducted by the Citizens Water Advocacy Group (CWAG). Forum participants will be candidates for the State Senate, Mark Finchem (R) and Mark Fogel (D), and candidates for the State House, Selina Bliss (R- incumbent), Jay Ruby (D), and Marcia Smith (D). Incumbent Quang Nguyễn (R) is unable to participate due to another meeting. The Forum will be live on Zoom on October 5 from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon. Citizens must pre-register under "Next Event" at cwagaz.org. A recording of the LD1 Forum will be available for later viewing.
Each candidate will be provided with the questions and a set of basic facts in advance of the Forum. These documents are posted on CWAG’s website at www.cwagaz.org. Click on "2024 Candidate Forum" under "Current Issues."
CWAG is nonpartisan, but all water issues are political. The purpose of the LD1 Candidate Forum is to insert water policy into our political and electoral dialogue and to inform voters and candidates about water issues.

The Coconino County Cooperative Extension Program trains Master Gardener volunteers to provide free science-based horticulture information to our community. This includes information on plant selection, insects, plant diseases, planting, pruning, irrigating, fertilizing, and more. This is a 16-week training. On Tuesday, October 8, Desert Hills Presbyterian Church (DHPC) will host an important seminar titled, “What is Dementia Anyway?” Presented by Walking Beside Ministry and led by Dr. Maribeth Gallagher, Director of Supportive Care for Hospice of the Valley’s Dementia Program, the seminar will provide education about the different types of dementia, its signs and stages, and how it differs from normal memory aging. The seminar will take place in the DHPC Fellowship Center, 34605 N. Tom Darlington Rd., Scottsdale, Ariz. 85266.
