Living History Adventure - Hot Off The Press!

Living History Adventure - Hot Off The Press!
Printing played an important role in the growth of communication, culture, and settlement in Arizona during the 1800s. The first printing press arrived in Arizona in 1859, when the Arizona Weekly Miner, the first newspaper in the region, was published in the mining town of Prescott. This paper covered news about the mining industry, local politics, and the challenges faced by settlers and Native American tribes, helping to inform the growing population. Museum visitors will get to experience what it took to print newspapers with the museum’s authentic 1868 printing press!
