Scouting Arizona, Grand Canyon Council Honors Sheriff Jim Driscoll at Trail to Leadership Luncheon
The annual Trail to Leadership event and award presentation is hosted by Scouting Arizona, Grand Canyon Council to honor community leaders who have dedicated years of service to their community.
This event’s honoree, Jim Driscoll, recently retired as Sherrif of Coconino County. He holds an extensive background in Search and Rescue activities. He has instructed in the field for 25 years and has managed numerous large-scale manhunts, searches, and weather-related disasters as Incident Commander.
Driscoll supports his community by serving on the Victim Witness Board, Citizens Against Substance Board, Foster Care Advisory Board, State Red Cross Board, and AZ State Homeland Security Commission. He is the previous president of the AZ Sheriffs Association and has served on the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Board for the past 35 years.
The Trail of Leadership Award is a prestigious recognition presented to those who embody the core values of the Scouts, as expressed in the Scout Oath, Law, and Motto. The lunch event is an opportunity to celebrate all the good that Scouting does for the community and raise funds for future generations.
For more than 100 years Scouting Arizona, Grand Canyon Council has provided youth guidance in character development, citizenship training and personal fitness. Community support is vital in assisting their mission to help young people reach their full potential.
