Soundscapes Through Time; Chase Coleman, Piano

Soundscapes Through Time; pianist Chase Coleman performs works by Schubert, Brahms, Debussy, Bix Beiderbecke and contemporary Navajo composer Connor Chee. Saturday November 29th, 3 PM at the Coconino Center for the Arts.

This program invites you on a musical journey spanning two centuries and bridging two worlds. It explores how composers use deeply personal experiences to create powerful and evocative music, from the heart-on-sleeve Romanticism of Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms to the cultural fusion of contemporary Navajo composer Connor Chee, the jazzy Art Deco elegance of Bix Beiderbecke and the atmospheric Impressionism of Claude Debussy.
Chase Coleman is a Flagstaff-based pianist and music educator known for his versatility in performing both classical and jazz repertoire. An active member of the Southwestern music community, he has appeared as soloist with Orchestra Northern Arizona, the Verde Valley Sinfonnietta and as a soloist in performances across the region and internationally. His eclectic artistic sensibility has led him to explore a wide range of musical genres, from the Renaissance to contemporary classical and jazz works.
