In July 2025, the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors adopted an updated Outdoor Lighting Standard, which are the building codes and rules regulating any outdoor lights in unincorporated Yavapai County. This can be considered the new "Dark Sky" rules that Yavapai County residents, business and visitors must follow when using outdoor lights in the county.
