Using biochar to better clean water

Using biochar to better clean water

Water is a vital substance needed by all living organism. The Flagstaff Water Group is concerned about the quality of our reclaimed water as well as how the water is used. An emerging process for cleaning reclaimed water is using biochar as a filter. Biochar is high grade charcoal which can bond with manmade organic compounds and remove them from solution. Removing harmful chemicals purifies the water making it safe for humans and all other organisms. For more information on using biochar in cleaning our water, join the FWG on Wed. June 25 at 7pm at the Market of Dreams at 2136 N. 4th St in Flagstaff.
