Venomous Reptile Awareness Training
Venomous Reptile Awareness Training
Learn about safety in rattlesnake country! This class will review venomous reptile identification, ecology, and behavior, appropriate responses when venomous reptiles are found in places where they are not welcomed by humans, and how to prevent venomous snakebites. A lecture will be followed by hands-on demonstration and class participation in supervised handling of non-venomous and venomous snakes, using snake-safe tongs and snake-proof holding containers. This training will be valuable for snake fans, state and federal agency wildlife managers, law enforcement, and interpretive rangers, field biologists, fire department staff, and anyone else who may be called on to remove a venomous reptile from a dangerous situation.
