A supervisor at a troubled Arizona prison says the Department of Corrections and contractors hired to fix broken cell-door locks are failing to do the job and falsifying records.
The allegations are outlined in a whistleblower complaint filed Tuesday by Lewis prison Associate Deputy Warden Shaun Holland.
Holland says he’s alerted his superiors but his warnings were ignored. His complaint included video from November that he says shows inmates getting out of their own cells.
Gov. Doug Ducey’s office tells ABC 15 that its reviewing the complaint and has confidence in new Corrections Director David Shinn.
