State Rep. Cook Denies Relationship With Suspended Lobbyist

Arizona Capitol Times

An Arizona agriculture lobbyist has been put on leave from her job after a newspaper raised questions about a possible romantic relationship with a state lawmaker.

Republican Rep. David Cook of Globe and Western Growers lobbyist AnnaMarie Knorr told The Arizona Republic in interviews they are friends and their relationship did not cross ethical lines.

The newspaper reports it received letters portraying a close relationship between the two.

The Republic reports the letters were mailed anonymously. Western Growers says it's aware professional misconduct allegations and is investigating.

Knorr says she's being targeted by her father and her husband, from whom she's seeking a divorce.
