Arizona House Ethics Chair Vows Fast Inquiry Into Lawmaker

David Cook Via Facebook.com

The head of the Arizona House Ethics Committee says ethics complaints against Republican State Representative David Cook of Globe must be completely investigated.

Representative John Allen says he wants to conduct a fair, thorough and speedy inquiry into allegations that Cook had an improper relationship with a lobbyist and used his power to help her personally.

Allen says moving swiftly on the investigation is important for both Cook and voters who may be asked to re-elect him in November.

Cook faces two ethics complaints, and the House has hired outside lawyers to investigate them.

He has denied wrongdoing.
