The Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise has approved a temporary closure of all Navajo Gaming operations in response to the spread of Covid19, the Coronavirus. The move comes after the first confirmed case of the virus on the Navajo Nation.
In a statement released today, the tribe said it is committed to protecting the "health, safety and general welfare of the Navajo People, the Team Members of all Navajo enterprises and the guest who visit 'Navajoland'."
During the temporary closure, expected to late through at least April 1, 2020, all Navajo Gaming properties will undergo extensive deep cleaning and sanitation of all areas of operation.
The tribe says it will closely monitor global updates from the World Health Organization on Covid-19 and will continue to follow guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Privention.
